Multidisciplinary Group Project
Prototyped a tidal energy capture device for the Bristol Channel and designed the supporting offshore rig. This project combined mechanical engineering, electronics, and structural analysis into one multidisciplinary solution. This project in particular taught me how to coordinate with a group and adapt to challenges for example originally this project was assigned to groups of ~8 however, due to people leaving the course our group was reduced to 5 with the same workload. Originally we had many ideas for tidal energy devices and used a desicion matrix to settle on what we will go forward with, we than did low fidelity protyping followed by further reasrch on location, suitability, economics, grid connection and much more. During this we were also working on CAD models, simulations and flow analysis for our turbine.
- Streamlined inventory visibility across production lines.
- Reduced unplanned downtime by 22% with predictive alerts.
- Enabled digital twin simulation for process optimization.
