Multidisciplinary Project

The multidisciplinary project was our first major group project at university in which we had to design a tidal energy device for the Bristol channel / Severn estuary  and a rig to go with it.

 We eventually settled on a ventuuri turbine that could be lowered into the estuary and its height adjusted for maximum efficency.

This projected spanned 2 terms in what was meant to be groups of 8 but due to some people chaning course we were left with just 5.

This project taught us many things such as: 

• CAD

• Manufacturing

• Prototyping

• Analytical/Critical thinking

• Electronic integrations

• Documentation Skills

• Simulations
